Om Conference of the Birds

Om is a duo formed in 2003 by the rhythm section of the disbanded doom metal band Sleep. feature Al Cisneros on vocals and bass and Chris Hakius on drums. This is their second and in my opinion best record.

Suicidal Tendencies, Suicidal Tendencies
Dr Hunter S Thompson University of Colorado 1977

An excellent quality - and highly entertaining - live recording from back in the day from a man who will never be equaled in terms of writing and such.
The man left us with a wealth of peculiar, eceentric, and right-fucking-on insights on life, the status quo, counter-culture, politcs, America, drugs, war, the law, rock 'n roll, and literally left this weathered pebble of ours with a bang.

take off eh!

This has to be the strangest "soundtrack" I've ever heard. After hitting it big on SCTV, the McKenzie brothers (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) made the transition to LP and then to the big screen in "Strange Brew," which was a take-off on "Hamlet" (!!). Despite Bob and Doug's claims that "this isn't our second album," it most certainly is. The album mainly features their comedic banter, along with the title song and a few excerpts from the score (but they're "those guys who talk over songs and wreck 'em"). It barely qualifies as a soundtrack, but it is an essential companion piece for fans of the film. It's really a shame that this one hasn't gotten a CD release. I've owned this album for over 20 years (as you can see in my new banner above), but I have to give credit for the rips and scans to Check the Cool Wax. This rip would doubtlessly be better than one of my own... Make sure to check out the scans of the sleeve in the rar!

Breadwinner

Breadwinner was a math rock-band based in Richmond, Virginia composed of: Pen Rollings (guitar), Robert Donne (bass), and Chris Farmer (drums). Rollings had previously been a member of hardcore punk outfit Honor Role. Merge Records released two 7-inch singles and one full-length CD, Burner (1994), comprising the two out of print singles and 3 unreleased tracks, after the band had broken up. The group has been called "the consummate math band and are one of the key bands in the early history of math rock. The metal band, Lamb of God, have cited Breadwinner as a major influence on their music.
Norrsken Discography

Norrsken, which translates to aurora borealis from Swedish, formed in 1995 originally under the name Winterorb. They put out two demos, Norrsken and Hokus Pokus, as well as a 7" single, "Armageddon." The band is best remembered as guitarist Magnus Pelander's band prior to forming the mighty Witchcraft. Vocalist Joakim Nilsson and bassist Rikard Edlund joined Albatros and then formed Graveyard, both bands in the 70s hard rock genre. Drummer Kristoffer Sjödahl joined Dead Man. Nilsson's brother, Johannes, currently plays bass and sings in stoner rock group Asteroid.
